Barclays Africa Group's website for the Kenyan market was outdated and confusing after years of iteration without proper planning or information architecture (the classic 'Frankenstein's monster').
While consulting for Barclays, I formed an unofficial experience lab called 'SP-X' (Special Projects X), an inside joke gently making fun of the bank's love of acronyms.
We wanted to show the bank we could leap ahead of the competition by offering a simpler, faster, more intuitive payment flow (hence the name 'River').
